WHAT HAPPENS IF SOMEONE IN THE BAND IS ILL?REPLACEMENTS OR DEPS AS THEY ARE CALLED WILL STAND IN ,YOU WILL NOT BE LEFT WITHOUT ENTERTAINMENT .BUT IN OVER 15 YEARS OF PERFORMING NEITHER EUAN OR PETER HAS EVER MISSED AN IMPORTANT FUNCTION THROUGH ILLNESS.THE SHOW MUST GO ON AS THEY SAY.

CAN WE CHOOSE ANY SONG FOR OUR 1ST DANCE?THE ONLY RULE WE HAVE IS THAT WE DO NOT SING ANY FEMALE VOCAL SONGS.APART FROM THAT YOU ARE FREE TO CHOOSE ALMOST ANY SONG AT ALL.IF ITS A SONG WE FEEL WE CANNOT DO JUSTICE TO WE WILL RECOMMEND CHOOSING A DIFFERENT TRACK OR HAVING THE ACTUAL CD FOR THE 1ST DANCE WHICH IS NO PROBLEM AT ALL.JUST BRING THE CD ALONG AND WE WILL PLAY IT.

HOWEVER IF THERE ARE CERTAIN SONGS IN OUR SET THAT YOU REALLY FEEL YOU DON'T WANT PLEASE LET US KNOW AND WE WILL LEAVE THEM OUT.BARE IN MIND THAT ALTHOUGH IT MAY NOT BE YOUR PARTICULAR FAVOURITE SOME OF YOUR GUESTS MIGHT REALLY ENJOY THEM AND GETTING A BALANCE IS IMPORTANT.

HOW MANY CEILEIDH SONGS DO YOU PLAY?WE PLAY THE GAY GORDONS AND DASHING WHITE SGT AND FIND FOR MOST WEDDINGS THIS IS SUFFICIENT.HOWEVER IF YOU DO FEEL YOU WOULD LIKE SOME MORE WE DO HAVE A CD THAT WE COULD PLAY JUST AFTER OUR BREAK THAT INCLUDES SUCH DANCES AS STRIP THE WILLOW AND CANADIAN BARN DANCE.THESE REQUIREMENTS CAN BE DISCUSSED BEFORE OR AFTER BOOKING.

WE HAVE BOOKED YOU FROM 8-12 WHAT TIME WILL YOU ARRIVE?WE AIM TO BE AT THE VENUE APPROX 1 HOUR BEFORE START TIME THIS GIVES US PLENTY OF TIME TO GET OUR EQUIPMENT IN AND SET UP.PLEASE NOTE UNLESS WE CAN ACCESS THE FUNCTION ROOM AT THIS TIME,I.E 7PM, WE WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GUARANTEE WE WILL BE READY TO START AT 8PM.HOWEVER WE WILL ALWAYS TRY OUR BEST.

WHY SHOULD I BOOK DEVILLE OVER A LARGER OR FULLY LIVE BAND?
1. Don't be mistaken into thinking that booking an expensive or larger band will automatically mean they're going to be good.In our experience a lot of bands overcharge and charge by the man,i.e £300 per band member, meaning a 4 piece band will be in the region of £1200. Sometimes those extra bodies on stage aren't doing all that much, so make sure that all members of the band are actually contributing to the sound.
2. Is your venue tight for space? a larger band with drums may take up half the dancefloor.
3. A larger band could take 1hour or more than DeVille to setup, meaning if the band don't access the room untill 20:00(you've been having such a good day the schedules a bit behind ,quite common) the bigger band won't be set up for 1st dance untill approx 21:30.DeVille will be set and ready at approx 8:40pm
4. Will the band you've booked be the band you get? Quite a lot of larger bands use stand ins regularly or deps as they are called, who are usually unrehearsed.
5. Larger bands find it harder to play at lower volumes due to the dynamics of the drums. DeVille can play at any volume you like.
6. Most live bands will attempt your 1st dance but you'll probably want it the way you know it and not the bands unrehearsed version of it. After all its your big moment.
7. Bigger bands can be expensive .Booking DeVille could save you bewtween £300 and £800.
8. A backing track band such as DeVille can play a wide range of styles with ease.From swing,indie and rock to dance,hip hop and chart hits. Larger bands may attempt these but with large and complexed productions on many modern hits and old swing classics it may sound a bit empty.
9. Its a wedding not a concert.None of your guests will even notice the band if there doing a good job and all the attention will be on you.Your spending extra for no real reason.A good backing track band such a DeVille will have the dance floor full all evening and everyone will comment on how good they were.Your then left with more cash to spend on the honeymoon,happy days!!
10. There are a few good live wedding bands out there but in our experience they are few and far bewtween.If you find one and absolutely love them then thats all that matters.Just keep in mind these pointers and you'll not go far wrong.We'll be putting a list of good live bands on this site asap.
